Best Thai restaurants in Phrom Phong
1. Rung Rueng Pork Noodle
Rung Rueng Pork Noodle is a famous noodle restaurant located near Phrom Pong BTS, on Sukhumvit Soi 26. This local eatery is specialized in pork noodles and only offers a few variations. The menu of Rung Reung Pork Noodle consists of three soups and one dry noodle. These four dishes come in three different sizes: small (50 THB), medium (60 THB) and large (70 THB). Guests can choose between six different types of noodles: big noodles, medium noodles, small noodles, short noodles, egg noodles and glass noodles. The most popular noodle soup they serve at Rung Reung Pork Noodle is the Tom Yum Noodle with Soup and we highly recommend you try this heavenly soup.
It’s important to know that there are two Rung Reung Pork Noodle restaurants, which are owned by brothers. The restaurants are located next to each other. The exact reason why they separated is for me unknown, but when it comes to food, I could not taste any difference. Also, both restaurants are hugely popular and especially in the morning as well as during lunchtime, the restaurants are jam-packed and guests often have to wait a while before getting a table.

2. Gedhawa
Gedhawa is a popular Northern Thai restaurant in Phrom Phong, located on Sukhumvit Soi 33. It’s a simple, straight-to-the-point restaurant with proper food and fair prices. Although there are a few standard Thai dishes on the menu, visitors often choose Northern Thai dishes such as Khao Soi (100 THB), Northern Thai Sausage (100 THB), and various Nam Phrik (130 – 150 THB) and Hang Lay (140 THB). In fact, the Hang Lay here is so good, that we even listed that curry in our article about the best curries in Bangkok.

Ginger Farm Eatery & Bar is part of the Ginger Farm Kitchen franchise, which is specialized in Northern Thai food. Started in Chiang Mai, this restaurant gained tremendous popularity thanks to the high-quality, homegrown ingredients in combination with amazingly flavoured dishes. I personally visit Ginger Farm Kitchen on a regular base and I still discover new favourite dishes. Ginger Farm Eatery & Bar is a branch located on Sukhumvit Soi 39. Visitors can expect a spacious, well-decorated modern cafe with good service and stunning-looking Northern Thai specialities. From Khao Soi to Nam Phrik and from Chiang Mai Sausage to Hang Lay curry, you can all find it here.

4. Klang Soi
Klang Soi is a beautiful Thai restaurant in Phrom Phong that is in business for many years and is tucked away from Bangkok’s chaos on Sukhumvit Soi 49. The restaurant is inside a colonial townhouse and is a typical place where Thai families come to dine together. The menu of Klang Soi is confusing as there are no prices shown and the translation of many Thai dishes seems incorrect. You can ask the friendly staff for recommendations, or order one of the following tasty dishes: Pad Pad Pla Duk (165), which is a fried catfish curry. Yum Pomelo (150 THB), which is a pomelo salad with prawns and pork. And the Beef Green Curry (165 THB), which is one of their specialities.

5. Kram
Kram is yet another popular Thai restaurant in Phrom Phong which is tucked away on Sukhumvit Soi 39. Kram offers a good variety of unique Thai dishes which are slightly pricier than the other recommended Thai restaurants but won’t break your wallet. For example, their Pad Prik King (220 THB) is a crispy pork belly stir-fry coated with a tasty chilli paste and is one of our favourite dishes at Kram thanks to the flavour, texture and spiciness. Another amazing dish is their signature Crab Meat and Wild Betel Leaf Yellow Curry (340 THB), which is a Southern-style curry with large chunks of crab meat. For more information about this restaurant, such as the opening times, recommended dishes, the menu and other TopTravelFoods users’ opinions check out the TopTravelFoods review page of Kram.
Important: unfortunately, Kram is one of the many victims in Bangkok of the COVID situation as has recently closed its doors permanently.

Isao is a hugely popular sushi restaurant in Phrom Phong and offers some amazingly creative creations that not only look great but also taste fantastic. It’s for that reason that this place is always jam-packed and especially during lunchtime, visitors often have to wait a while before getting a table, so avoiding rush hours is recommended. Absolute highlights at Isao are Jackie (450 THB) and Dragon (450 THB), but other sushi rolls like the Crunchy (320 THB) and the Sushi Sandwich (350 THB) are impressive too.

Highlights of the menu are the Kakuni Bankara (265 THB), Aburi Chashu Don (120 THB) and the Buta Kakuni Don (165 THB), but we are sure there are many other tasty dishes to be found here.
