The best restaurants in On Nut also include Best Beef, located near On Nut BTS Station.

The best Thai restaurants in On Nut are:

1. Best Beef

Without a doubt, the most popular restaurant in On Nut is Best Beef, a Thai barbecue restaurant. As soon as the restaurant is open, loads of hungry customers will grab a table and enjoy a two-hour barbecue buffet. After six o’clock, the restaurant is jam-packed and people have to wait for a table, which will take a while. There are several packages available, ranging from 269 THB to 439 THB, of which the last one includes unlimited beer and soft drinks. Best Beef is not the place for fine dining, but for those who seek a delicious and fun activity while socializing with friends. The buffet included a good variety of pork, beef, chicken, seafood and sides.

2. Lao Garden

Lao Garden was one of my personal favourite restaurants in On Nut when I lived nearby. It’s located behind Habito Mall, on Sukhumvit Soi 77. Lao Garden is specialized in Isaan and Laotian food and the restaurant is built on a canal, surrounded by greenery which gives it a cool atmosphere. When it comes to food, there are plenty of typical Isaan dishes such as Som Tam Thai Style (70 THB), Laab Kai (100 THB), Deep-Fried Pork (120 THB) and grilled meats, but also Thai food from other regions such as Pad Thai (120 THB) and Pad Kra Pao (120 THB). Most importantly, the food here is clean and well-flavoured. Aside from the food, Lao Garden is also a nice place to grab a beer as it’s located away from the noisy roads.

3. Mook Tao Tueng

Craving for something sweet? Mook Tao Tueng is a small Thai dessert shop located on Sukhumvit 77 and offers a good variety of Thai desserts. From banana spring rolls covered in chocolate sauce (Pang Kuay Tod, 30 THB) to simple coconut ice cream with roasted peanuts (I-Tim Ka Ti, 30 THB), it’s all available for a bargain.

Kungpao Onnuch 37

Kungpao Onnuch 37 is a popular seafood restaurant in On Nut but is located a bit far away from Sukhumvit Road, namely four kilometres. Although not easy to reach except by taxi, Kungpao Onnuch 37 is definitely worth the visit. Due to its location, you won’t find many foreigners here, but the restaurant is often packed with hungry locals, simply because the food tastes great and the prices for seafood are decent. A large Fried Seabass with Fish Sauce costs you 360 THB and one of the signature dishes, the Stir-Fried Soft-Shell Crab with Curry Powder costs you 240 THB.

5. Yaowarat

Yaowarat is a local eatery located at the beginning of Sukhumvit Soi 77 and offers a huge variety of Thai and Chinese-influenced dishes. This place is a typical restaurant that you can visit at least once a week as the menu is large, the quality of the food is good and the prices are reasonable. This restaurant does not win the award for the best looking restaurant in town, but sure does the job when it comes to satisfying your hunger. I personally loved their Snapper Steamed with Lemon (380 THB), but their Spicy Glass Noodle Salad (100 THB) and Stir-Fried Clams with Curry (80 THB) were really tasty too. Yaowarat is a no-nonsense restaurant and is often packed with hungry locals for a very good reason!

The best international restaurants in On Nut are:

6. Easy Burger

Listed in our article about the best burgers in Bangkok, Easy Burger is a fantastic place if you fancy a burger. This shop is located at a small bar complex next to Rhythm Sukhumvit 50. What makes this burger joint so special is the fact that everything is homemade and the owner perfected his recipe over the last two years. Easy Burger serves so-called smash burgers and their menu consists of only a handful of their creations. Prices vary between 125 to 235 THB, of which some include a whole set menu. Talking about a fair price.

7. Tacos & Salsa

Tacos & Salsa is located on Sukhumvit Soi 77 and is the second branch of this popular Mexican restaurant. The menu consists of twenty pages full of deliciousness and comfort food. I’ve visited this restaurant several times and the quality of the food is consistent. The only downside of this restaurant is the fact that it’s a bit small. My personal favourites were the Quesadilla Chicken Tanga (250 THB), Soft Tacos (250 THB), Chorizo Sopes (220 THB) and of course their California Burrito (300 THB). Tacos & Salsa is without a doubt one of the best international restaurants in On Nut!

8. Mont Calzone

If you’re craving good international food in On Nut, one of the most convenient places to go is Habito Mall. This small mall is tucked away from the main streets and therefore not busy compared to other shopping malls nearby. On the second floor, you’ll find a handful of great restaurants including Mont Calzone. Mont Calzone offers a variety of Thai and Italian foods, all beautifully presented and well-flavoured, for a decent price. During our visit, we tried the Pan-Seared Sea Bass (340 THB) and the Penne all Genovese (250 THB), but I’ve ordered plenty of pizzas and pasta too in the past. The food never disappointed me.

9. Nanase Ramen

Nanase Ramen is located near On Nut BTS Station and is one of the four branches in the city. This small, cosy ramen shop offers a good variety of ramen including soba, miso ramen, a handful of rice dishes and heavenly gyozas. One of their bestsellers is the Special Soba (150 THB), which is a creamy ramen bowl that’s slightly spicy and packed with pork meat. I would highly recommend you to try their Fried Gyoza (53 THB) or their Sui Gyoza (53 THB) too, as they are fantastic.

10. Teien Sushi

Teien Sushi is, similar to the previously recommended restaurant Mont Calzone, located at Habito Mall and is a popular place for Japanese who live in this area, to eat sushi and other Japanese dishes. Sushi rolls cost you around 260 THB per plate, with Unagi Roll (280 THB) and the Engawa Sakura Butera (240 THB) as my personal favourite. For salmon lovers, I would recommend you to order their Salmon Sushi Set, which is a full plate of all sorts of salmon bites for a decent price of 325 THB. During lunchtime, Teien Sushi offers a few lunch sets, which attracts many customers. The Salmon Set Lunch is available for 280 THB.

11. Oh La La Cafe

This small restaurant is located on Sukhumvit Soi 50 and is known for its (international) breakfast options. One of the reasons why it’s so popular is because they serve breakfast all day along with a good cup of coffee, which many ex-pats crave every once in a while. From English Breakfast (320 THB) to Breakfast Delight (300 THB), there is an option for everyone. Personally, I loved their Hot Baguette with Beef (180 THB) and their Breakfast Waffle (170 THB) the most.

12. Muiné

Muiné is the last restaurant we recommend that is located in Habito Mall. Muiné is a Vietnamese “street food” restaurant that offers many classic Vietnamese dishes in a trendy way. From Bánh Mi (280 THB) to Pho Rib Eye Slide Beef Soup (160 THB), it’s all served here. One of my favourite dishes I tried here is the Báhn Mì Tacos with BBQ Chicken (200 THB).

13. Trica Hostel & Cafe

Trica Hostel & Cafe is located on Sukhumvit Soi 77, and although not a proper restaurant, the cafe in front of the hostel does offer a few tasty dishes that you won’t easily find elsewhere in On Nut. First of all, they do an amazing Clubhouse Sandwich for only 140 THB. Secondly, they offer a Kara-Age Set (180 THB), which is the main reason why people who live nearby often come back. The last item on their recommendation menu is the Teriyaki Burger (150 THB), which was surprisingly tasty. Trica Hostel & Cafe offers simple, tasty and reasonably-priced food and is definitely worth the visit!
