Best Thai restaurants near Nana and Asoke:

1. MAYs Bangkok

When it comes to amazing Thai restaurants near Nana and Asoke, MAYs is one of my personal favourites. After the successful branch in Pattaya, owner May decided to open up a branch in Bangkok where her team serves amazing-looking and great-tasting Thai dishes that are made with clean ingredients. The idea behind MAYs is to serve authentic Thai food without any artificial flavour enhancers. For example, instead of using refined sugar, she adds a sweet fruit instead, which makes the food much lighter and cleaner without losing flavour. Highlights of the menu are Seabass with Yellow Curry (490 THB), Deep-Fried Shrimp Cakes (170 THB), Pineapple Fried Rice (250 THB) and the signature MAYs Curry with Duck (380 THB).

Prai Raya

The original Prai Raya is a tremendously popular restaurant in Phuket with a handful of signature dishes that make Thai come back on a regular basis. Luckily, you don’t have to travel all the way to Phuket as they have a branch in Bangkok as well. This restaurant is located near Nana BTS, on Sukhumvit Soi 8. The restaurant itself looks beautiful with a colonial-themed atmosphere, similar to the one in Phuket. PraiRaya is specialized in Southern Thai dishes, and the highlights of the menu are Fresh Crab Meat in Yellow Curry (400 THB) and Steamed Pork Belly With Pepper & Garlic (250 THB), but there are a handful of other highly recommended dishes available on the menu, including my personal favourite: Deep-Fried Prawn With Tamarind Sauce (480 THB).

3. Gedhawa

Gedhawa is a nice little restaurant that offers both regular Thai and Northern Thai foods and is located between Asoke and Phrom Phong on Sukhumvit 33. What makes Gedhawa so popular is the fact that the food is flavorful and well-priced while the staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. In other words, Gedhawa is a no-nonsense restaurant with many returning customers that simply love their Northern Thai dishes. Highlights are the Hunge Lae Curry (140 THB), Khao Soi Chicken (100 THB) and Spicy Seafood Salad with Wing Beans (120 THB). In fact, the Hunge Lae Curry is so delicious, we even listed it in our article about the best curries in Bangkok.

4. Pier 21 Food Court

On the top floor of Terminal 21, you can find a food court that offers a huge variety of Thai dishes for a bargain. This food court is the most popular food court in Bangkok thanks to its quality and pricing. Some of the food recommendations at Pier 21 are: Pad Thai with Prawns (50 THB) at Hoi Tod Champ Mae Klong, Sweet Mango Sticky Rice (70 THB) at Cheng Sim Ei, Sesame Noodle with Roasted Duck (40 THB) at Dragon X, Kha Moo (60 THB) at Kha Moo Nakornpathom and Spicy Fried Chicken Salad (40 THB) at Zing Zab.

Note: due to the COVID situation, some restaurants closed their doors. This article will be updated with more Thai restaurants near Nana and Asoke once the restrictions are lifted.

Best international restaurants near Nana and Asoke:

When you’re craving a burger, you’re in luck as there are three amazing restaurants near Nana and Asoke that serve amazing burgers. In fact, all these three restaurants are listed in our article about the best burgers in Bangkok.

5. Artisan Craft Burgers

Ranked as our number one when it comes to burgers, Artisan Craft Burgers is a fantastic place. The restaurant is located on Sukhumvit Soi 11. Artisan Craft Burgers offers a wide variety of unique burgers made with home-grinded meat, including the burger of the month. Prices vary between 220 and 240 THB excluding fries. The burgers are served on a brioche bun and the juicy patties get a rest for about five minutes to make sure all the juices are kept in the patty before serving. Aside from their amazing burgers, Artisan Craft Burgers also serve impressive fries with a huge selection of sauces. Do yourself a favour and visited this burger specialist.

6. MadCow Burger by Toni Santos

MadCow Burger by Toni Santos is close to Asoke BTS Station and serves completely different burgers from the previously recommended Artisan Craft Burgers. That does not make them less tasty. First of all, the buns are made by themselves and they perfected their whole wheat bun, which is rather unusual as most burger joints serve them on a brioche bun. The patty is made with a special formula where the fat is dry-aged, which gives it a super juicy result. The signature burger The MadCow (250 THB), comes with a 150-gram patty and three different sauces, namely tartare sauce, ketchup and mustard. The burger is topped with bacon, cheddar, lettuce and tomato. Besides the signature burger, there are five different burgers available on the menu ranging from 150 THB to 350 THB, as well as Mac & Cheese, Steak, Wings and a few side dishes.

7. Prime Burger

Prime Burger is a relatively new player when it comes to the burger scene in Bangkok and is specialized in so-called smash burgers. In fact, I believe that they serve the best smash burger in town and one of the best things about the burger at Prime burger is that the burger is big (not in height but in diameter). There are nine different burgers available and each of them comes in different sizes. Their signature burger, The Stockholm Burger is topped with American Cheese, Pickled Red Onions, Prime Sauce, Lettuce and Tomato and for a double patty, you pay 295 THB. We highly recommend you try their signature burger! Prime Burger has several branches in Thailand and one of them is located between Asoke BTS and Phrom Phong BTS.

8. Charley Brown’s Mexicana

Charley Brown’s Mexicana is a popular eatery that serves tasty Mexican food since 1992 and is an institution when it comes to Mexican food in Bangkok. It offers a good variety of Tex-Mex dishes as well as authentic Mexican specialities. Because of this, Charley Brown’s Mexicana offers more unique dishes compared to other Mexican restaurants in Bangkok, while still offering the classics such as Chili Con Carne (350 THB), Nachos (290 THB) and Burritos (350 THB). I absolutely loved their Quesadilla Chipotle Chicken (150 THB) and their Enchiladas De Mariscos (350 THB).

9. Limoncello

Limoncello is a popular Italian restaurant that serves a good variety of wood-oven pizzas and pasta. The restaurant is located on Sukhumvit Soi 11 and is hugely popular among foreigners. One of the best things about Limoncello is that they serve imported Italian products, which benefits the dishes they serve here, although these imported goods come with a price tag. Highlights are the Pizza Limoncello (450 THB), Pizza Zanotti (590 THB) and the Spaghetti Alla Marinara (430 THB).

10. Korean Barbecue at Korea Town

Right between Nana and Asoke is an area called Korean Town where you can find a dozen of Korean restaurants that mainly offer Korean Barbecue. Doo Rae, Viking Korean BBQ Buffet, Il Mi Jung and Arirang are among the popular barbecue restaurants here. Most of these restaurants offer a la carte menu, although there are a few that offer a buffet. If you did leave some space for dessert, which is always challenging when eating Korean Barbecue, head over to Sulbing, which is located right in front of Korea Town. They serve fantastic Korean shaved-ice creations.

11. Pala Pizza

Pala Pizza is a convenient place located at the entrance of Asoke MRT and serves fantastic sliced pizza as well as a good variety of baked goods. As the shop opens at seven o’clock in the morning, it’s ideal for breakfast too. Highlights of the menu are Diavola Pizza Slice (105 THB), 5 Formaggi Pizza Slice (110 THB), Spaghetti Calabrese (260 THB) and Spaghetti Norcina (265 THB). For more information, such as the opening times, location, other recommended dishes and TopTravelFoods users’ reviews, check out the TopTravelFoods review page of Pala Pizza.

12. Arno’s

Arno’s is a popular franchise in Bangkok created by butcher and owner Arnaud. With his experience as a butcher, chef and businessman, he opened up different types of restaurants within his franchise, meaning that some restaurants offer finer dining as well. Arno’s is specialized in dry-aged beef, flamed grill, beef cut in French style. One of the branches is located on Sukhumvit Soi 13, right between Nana and Asoke. We recommend you try their Double Traditional Burger (390 THB), Philadelphia Steak (220 THB) and Hot Dog Chicago Style (170 THB), although there are many other tasty items on the menu.

13. Beirut Restaurant

Beirut Restaurant is yet another popular franchise in Bangkok and as you might expect, it’s specialized in Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes. The menu is enormous with all sorts of hummus, salads, sandwiches, kebab, stews and pastries. During my visit, I absolutely enjoyed their Mixed Grill (300 THB) and their Hummus with Shawarma Chicken (200 THB), but there were so many other dishes to try. Simply put this way, this restaurant is in business for several years and is visited often by both tourists and ex-pats and it won’t be that successful if they serve bad food. We recommend you to go check it out yourself!

Best vegetarian restaurants near Nana and Asoke:

14. Taye

If you’re up for something cool and unique, head over to Taye, a small restaurant located on Sukhumvit Soi 3. Taye is an Ethiopian restaurant that offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Ethiopian specialities. During my first visit, I had no clue what I should order, but luckily, the staff was extremely friendly and made sure that I ordered something tasty. I would recommend you try one of the following dishes: Veggie Combo (300 THB), which is large enough to share with two people. Shiro Wot (250 THB), which is a vegetarian dish made of peas, onion, garlic and Ethiopian spices served with injera. If you want to order a non-vegetarian dish, I would recommend you try either their Door Wot (350 THB) or Awaze Tibs (350 THB). All dishes are served with injera, which is Ethiopian flatbread. You eat this with your hands by tearing off some of the flatbread and dipping it in the dippings. This place is highly recommended as you won’t find this kind of food elsewhere in Bangkok

15. Veganerie

Veganerie is a popular vegetarian restaurant with four branches in Bangkok, of which one of them is located on Sukhumvit Soi 11. The menu consists of a good variety of breakfast, brunch, dessert and smoothie options. One of our favourite desserts we tried here was the Vegan Banana-Nut & Butterscotch Pancakes (240 THB), but we also loved the Green & Fresh Smoothie Bowl (250 THB) as well as their Italian Zoodles (260 THB), which is a spaghetti bolognese made with strings of eggplant.

16. Dosa King

Dosa King is a vegetarian Indian restaurant located at the start of Sukhumvit Soi 11 and is in business since 2002. The menu of Dosa King is huge, with of course a wide variety of dosas. My personal favourites were the Samosa Chaat (180 THB), Alloo Gobhi (180 THB), Malai Kofta (210 THB) and the Paneer Tikka Masala (250 THB), but many other classic Indian dishes can be found on the menu, all 100% vegetarian. Dosa King still attracts many customers after all these years, simply because the food is clean, tasteful and doesn’t break the bank.

Bonus: Paris Mikki

For those who consider themselves as a sweet tooth, or those who have room for dessert during lunchtime, head over to Paris Mikki. Paris Mikki can be seen as one of the best Parisian patisseries in Bangkok. Signature pastries such as the Lady Pinkse (180 THB) and Orangette (190 THB) are often sold out at the end of the day, so make sure you arrive on time. The Tarth Myrtille et Earl Grey (205 THB) is also highly recommended.
