Paella de Chicharron (48,000 COP)*
Paella de Chicharron (48,000 COP)*
One of the bestsellers at La Matriarca. A fusion dish that combines their famous Chicharron with Paella. Aside from the incredibly juicy crispy pork belly, the Paella is incredibly tasty and comes with a little bit of punch from chilies. It’s not super spicy, but it sure makes it far more interesting than a regular Paella. A highly recommended main course!
Ceviche de Chorizo (29,500 COP)
Ceviche de Chorizo (29,500 COP)
An excellent starter served with tasty chorizo. It’s one of the great protein alternatives to their popular chicharon. What’s good about this chorizo is that it is high in sour and when you combine it with the fresh avocado, crispy fried banana, and savory chorizo, you have an excellent flavor combination.
Bandeja Paisa (45,900 COP)
Bandeja Paisa (45,900 COP)
For those who don’t know, the Bandeje Paisa is the most famous dish in Medellin. It’s a savory platter full of meats, eggs and beans. In most cases, the plate is robust and often to large to finish on your own. However, the Bandeja Paisa at La Matriarca is much more delicate and subtle. And of course, it comes with their famous, juicy chicharron. The platter is also served with chorizo, morcilla (blood sausage) and a large bowl of tasty beans. Absolutely divine!
Croquetas de Posta (44,000 COP)

For a hearty starter, make sure to order these mashed potato croquettes which are stuffed with posts de la negra (a tender beef stew from the coast), crispy bacon, and mozzarella cheese. The croquettes are breaded in panco, making them extra light and crispy. It’s a great option of you fancy something savory as a starter and the filling is a good combination that most people surely love!
