If you’re a meat lover, then Bárbaro – Cocina Primitiva is a restaurant that you must visit. Good quality meat, perfectly seasoned and cooked to your preference, accompanied by fries or potatoes, all for a very reasonable price. If you’re not into red meat, there are plenty of alternatives to choose from. Those who are true red meat enthusiasts could opt for imported meats, which do have a premium price tag, but are of the highest quality you can think of, cooked to perfection. I visited Bárbaro multiple times, and never was I disappointed with the food they serve.
Note: this restaurant has three branches in Medellin, namely Laureles, Poblado and Rionegro.

This is their signature rack of pork ribs. It’s slow-cooked first and finished on he grill, glazed and caramelized with their signature barbecue sauce. What makes it so tasty is that the meat is so tender and it falls right off the bone. Also, the rustic fries are incredibly tasty. Served with a truffle mayonnaise.

A thick, lean cut of the thin loin of beef, grilled to the desired doneness and accompanied by butter with fine herbs and chimichurri. A very delicious, and perhaps simple dish, but the meat is very tender and is incredibly satisfying to eat. Highly recommended!
Mondongo (22,500 - 26,700 COP)
Chistilla de Cerdo (49,900 COP)
The cross-section that combines the pork rib and pork belly, marinated with house spices, and finished on the charcoal grill. Tender pork with a high smokey flavour accompanied with rustic fries, but the side dish can be replaced by one of the other options.

One of the bestsellers of Bárbaro – Cocina Primitiva, a smokey sirloin crusted in black spices served on sweet cob puree and potato. The meat is served with chimichurri. Cooked to perfection, although you can decide the cuisine of the sirloin. A heavenly dish for the meat lover.
