MAO 33 Arepas Rellenas is a small diner that serves exciting arepas. You can choose between 15 different creations, which cost between 10,000 and 17,000 COP. The fillings are mostly typical Antioquian ingredients, such as beans, chicharron, and pulled pork. It’s the ideal Medellin fast food and one arepa will guarantee you won’t be hungry within the next five hours. Aside from the tasty arepas, it’s also worth mentioning that this small dinner has quite a cool interior.

For me personally, this was the best arepa I’ve tried here. It’s stuffed with shredded chicken, which usually tastes a little bit bland. However, not only is the chicken nicely salted, it’s mixed with hogao, which gives it so much more flavour. Talking about comfort food!

This arepa is fully stuffed with typical Antioqian ingredients, such as shredded beef, bits of pork belly, beans, fried banana, and hogao. This is one of their bestsellers and if you do plan to order this enormous thing, make sure you come hungry.

This arepa is pretty straightforward and simple compared to the previous two recommended arepas. Inside this arepa, you find deep-fried chicken with melted mozzarella cheese. Just add a little sauce to your preference and you’re good to go. Simple, yet tasty.
